Brief Introduction
My team and I use multiple techniques, including structural geology, geochronology and thermochronology, cosmogenic nuclides, landscape analyses and numerical modelling, to understand interactions among tectonics, climate and erosion and their consequences for landscapes and natural hazards, especially earthquakes. Aided by a growing list of collaborators based in the UK, China, Australia and US, I am currently working on:
1) The development of new approaches for quantifying long-term strain distribution in deformation belts,
2) The development of low-temperature thermochronological methods,
3) The long- and short-term strain distribution in the seismically active eastern Tibetan Plateau,
4) Mesozoic and Cenozoic morpho-tectonic evolution of the East Asia (mainly focusing on the Tibetan Plateau and the northern margin of the South China Sea) and their climatic implications.
Several publications of our research have been featured by the cover page of the hosting issue and highlighted by Eos news as an "AGU Research Spotlight”.
