Brief Introduction
Dr. Lu is a Professor at the School of Earth Science and Engineering of Sun Yat-sen University. He received his B.S. degree in physics from the University of Science and Technology of China in 2004, and got his Ph.D. degree in physics from the University of Texas at Austin in 2010. From 2010 to 2018, he worked as a senior research geophysicist in Petroleum Geo-Services (Houston, USA). In 2019, he joined the School of Earth Science and Engineering of Sun Yat-sen University. Dr. Lu’s research interests focus on exploration geophysics. He won the best paper award of The Leading Edge in the year 2015. He was awarded top 30 paper (out of 1000+) of the Society of Exploration Geophysicists (SEG) annual meeting twice (2013 and 2017).

Exploration geophysics, seismology, geophysics, geodynamics and tectonics
1. Geophysics: seismic imaging, imaging of multiples, depth migration, least-squares migration, full waveform inversion, joint migration inversion, numerical modeling of seismic wave propagation, signal processing, machine learning, artificial intelligence, etc. 
2. Geology: seismic interpretation, continental margin tectonics and geodynamics, etc.
